Hiker Sling the Ring

Hook & Ring Toss Tournament

Tickets are only needed to compete, it’s FREE to come and watch!

🎯 Objective

Swing your ring onto the hook, move the scoring marker toward your opponent, and be the first to push it off their end. Win your group, advance to finals, and claim ultimate glory! 18+ players only. Under 18’s can watch.

🛠 Tournament Structure

• Players: 48 (12 groups of 4 players)
• Boards: 6 boards
• Stage 1: Round Robin (everyone plays everyone in their group)
• Stage 2: Finals knockout (details announced after groups)

🏆 Group Stage Format

• Each group plays 6 matches:
  A vs B, A vs C, A vs D, B vs C, B vs D, C vs D
• Matches are best of 3 games (first to 2 wins)
• Win = 1 point, Loss = 0 points
• Player with most points in group wins and advances
• Tie? → Sudden death playoff match

🎮 How to Play

1. Players sit on opposite sides of the board.
2. Take turns swinging the ring to hook it.
3. Each successful hook moves the scoring marker one space toward opponent.
4. First to push the marker off opponent’s end wins the game.

📏 Rules of Play

✅ Players alternate turns (no skipping or rushing)
✅ No blocking or interfering with opponent
✅ Ring must hook and settle to count

🕐 Time Management

• Each match capped at ~15 min
• Group rounds run in two blocks: Groups 1–6, then Groups 7–12
• Keep matches moving to stay on schedule

Quarter Finals

12 group winners advance

• Players: 12 (4 groups of 3 players)
• Boards: 3 boards

Semi Finals

4 Quarter Final winners advance

• Players: 4 (2 Slingers per board)
• Boards: 2 boards

3^rd & 4^th Place Playoff – Losers from Semi Final

• Players: 2 (2 Slingers per board)
• Boards: 1 board

Grand Final – Winners from Semi Final

• Players: 2 (2 Slingers per board)
• Boards: 1 board
